This artwork was commissioned by a fellow player, and being able to spend the time to bring to life a character I cared about was a wonderful opportunity and made me push myself toward much detail.
Finished piece, I polished the face and added some additional contrast to help define the details
When working with people I start with a series of pose sketches, the first ideas that come to mind when I'm given the project. These are fast, and there only as direction.

I had ideas about the lighting but had to test them out in greyscale first. I enjoy dramatic lighting, and having this be lit by the wings was the choice I stuck with
